At Friarswood Primary School we value every opportunity to work in partnership with the whole school community.

We strive to provide a caring environment where all aspects of learning are viewed enthusiastically.

The responsibility for creating a happy, welcoming and secure school rests with those of us who work here, supported by parents and families.

Our ethos is to create a happy, relaxed and stimulating atmosphere in which each child can develop positive and co-operative relationships as well as building an understanding and respect for all people and cultures.

Friarswood Primary is an inclusive school that uses the Creative Curriculum approach to teaching and learning.  We have found that it enthuses each individual and it promotes success and achievement in all children.

All staff here are  enthusiastic and dedicated in ensuring that Friarswood offers the best in education.  Each person treats all pupils as unique, special and valued members of our school.  We believe in equal opportunities for all no matter what sex, gender preference, religion or ethnic origin or other of the nine protected characteristics.  Everybody is equal and everybody has a right to learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Through our curriculum we teach our pupils about Fundamental British Values and how to celebrate diversity. We aim to raise their awareness of radicalisation and extremist views, whatever the source. We have adopted the principles and advice found in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016’ and the 2011 ‘Prevent Strategy’. These are incorporated into our school policy on tackling extremism.

We would like to thank everyone who contirbutes to our school for their continuous support for our children.

Mrs L Wilmer
